Writing a book review (2 варіант)

The Call of the Wild is a must read novel. It is not just a book for little kids. It is a book that makes me think.

Jack London wrote The Call of the Wild in 1903. The realism of his writing and the artistry of each enchanting description makes the book come alive and will hook you into reading without stopping.

The Call of the Wild is centered around a sled dog Jiving in the Yukon and Alaska. Buck has to work hard pulling sleds for cruel owners who abuse him and make him steal his food in order to survive. Then there is also the competition with the other dogs, from which he learns soon enough that being the meanest and the toughest dog is the best way to get through the day-to-day hassles. Buck goes through a lot of different but equally mean owners, before finally ending up with a kind and loving owner named John Thorton. When Thorton gets murdered Buck goes berserk and in his rage he ends up killing several people. He then disappears into the wild where he becomes the alpha male of a wolf pack.

Even though the main character of this novel is a dog, the story focuses on the struggle to survive in a world that is full of meaningless death and cruelty. We do not live like dogs or are treated as such, but some of us know very well what it means having to struggle everyday in order to just survive in this world.

So, if you are interested in realistic descriptions of life and like dogs, then reread the novel!
