BETSY, 10, Canada, My name is Betsy. I am from Canada. My favourite holiday is Thanksgiving Day. We celebrate it is on the fourth Thursday in November. Thanksgiving is really a harvest1 festival. But the history of this holiday comes back to 1621 when the Pilgrims, the first settlers2 of America, after the difficult winter had a good harvest the next year. The Indians invited them. In Massachusetts, the Pilgrims join their Indian friends to each other in their festival. These days Americans and Canadians thank God and helped for the good on this day. I think it's a special holiday for our people.
